Life's Little Lessons

There are far too many quotes teaching us about life, but crazy thing is, we always think we know but we actually forget. Proverbs from our parents and elders would teach us things but we soon forget some of these words only if they were said on a significant day or occurrence. The book of Proverbs in the Bible would teach us too but hey! We would practice for a while then forget again. Am not going to repeat them am only going to add a few of mine as well as paint scenarios to give clearer pictures that might help the ones we know stick.

Have an impression about yourself : This, if not handled with care would lead to cockiness, pride and arrogance but it is very important to have an impression of who you are or how you want people to perceive you. if you do not have an impression of yourself, you can be blown towards any direction the wind takes you.

Always take yourself seriously: If you don't take yourself seriously, why should other people take you seriously. If you think you don't deserve the best never get disappointed if people give you trash.

Never take yourself too seriously: Beware of this as it is another name for pride or superiority complex. If you're busy feeling self important there are people out there who have achieved more than you can ever dream at a younger age than you.

Never sell yourself short: This one comes in handy always because, the value you place on yourself  is the same value others will be compelled to place on you.

Be careful of oversharing: This is wise, because the amount of information you share is the amount of ammunition you hand over to others against you. lest you shoot yourself in the leg.

Salutation is not love: Because someone says good morning to you does not mean the person likes you. people are pretentious by nature. Another person could like you and not say a word to you.

Life is a leveller: This is one of the beauties of this world. The fact that someone is ahead today doesn't mean you will never get there or you can't surpass that persons greatness. you will find a friend might marry ahead of you, but you might eventually marry and have kids ahead of the said friend or another friend, or God forbid they could lose everything overnight.

Develop yourself no matter what: Never wait for your company, or people to train you acquire as many skills as you can on your own as well as with your company or anyone willing to give you added knowledge. You never know when it will come in handy. For no knowledge is wasted.

Consistency: This is an integral part of success, try doing one thing for thirty days and you'll realize you get  better each time or that you've covered more grounds than you ever thought you could.
