Hmmmmm! Na wa O shaking my head, girls of today will not seize to amaze me, we have issues sha..... The story am about to share happened to a family friend a couple of weeks back, am totally serious when I say it really happened. Truth is I don't know how the person involved should have reacted.

This guy and girl have been dating for five years and like any other relationship they had their fair share of problems and when they saw it wasn't working they broke up, sometime after the break-up we saw them together again which just made me believe the guy must love her and she most certainly must love him back to be back with him. Now! I have no idea why they broke up before, but since they're back together all we as friends and family can do is be happy for them. one thing leads to another and next thing we hear, they're getting married. WOW! GREAT NEWS, as they say you don't know what you got till you lost or lose it, guess they both realised what they had and lost that's why as soon as they got back together they decided to get married.

They've been dating for five years and I guess the excitement of the fact that they've known they were going to be married one way or another made the guy forget to propose properly. they went on straight and did the introduction, but the girl wasn't happy she didn't get the candle light dinner, guy on one knee proposal so she complained and we as friends of the guy told him he had better do it properly before the engagement and white wedding. He listened and asked his sister-in law to get a lovely ring from Dubai, which she did. immediately she got back, my sister organized a lovely lunch date at the restaurant of a well known beautiful hotel in Ikoyi.

They both came in for lunch, she had no idea he was about to propose, my sister and her husband were excited and couldn't wait to see her expression when she saw the ring. they were taken to a table for two by a cool corner. it was a buffet so they stood up served themselves, had their starters, main course, after which they chilled for a while to gist before going for dessert. At this time the guy started to talk, saying how much he's grateful she's in his life and he knows how annoying he can be, he thanked her for putting up with him for five years and for being his girl.....and so on

By now the corner had gone quiet, people had started to whisper excitedly saying that guy is about to propose, and so he goes on one knee and brings out the ring,  will you do me the honour of being my wife? He asked, with the ring in hand. This girl grabs the ring from him and says..... what kind of ring is this? She starts to scratch the surface to see if its real Gold. by this time a bunch of waiters were on their way with a cake and had started singing, but my sister immediately jumps up to warn them off, the girl didn't even notice. The people in the restaurant went quiet because they could hear her shouting... it is fake. The guy gets up quietly without saying a word and informs her that he is going for dessert. I know for a fact that he got that ring for N320,000, the ring is beautiful and it is not fake. If you were that guy what will do? if he was your brother or friend and you witnessed this or even heard what would you do? Please let me hear O.

  2. She obviously has issues with material things and doesn't appreciate the simple act of being proposed to.

If he really cares about his future, he'd think twice about walking down the aisle with her. First she embarrassed him in front of all the people seated in the restaurant. If she doubted the genuineness of the ring, she could have waited till after the dinner, act surprised and then later in their privacy bring up her doubts.

However, she doesn't care about him but what she can get out of the relationship and that's why she behaved the way she did.

Poor guy, if it was me I'd have a rethink. She's not worth all the diamond in the world.

  3. Hmm...to each his/ her own. Madness does not start in one day, he knows her very well, that's why he ignored her....best he makes the decision himself, after all they have been dating a while. I refuse to judge her base on this incident alone, he might have done something to provoke her reaction, abi?
