YOUR WORD YOUR BOND

Your word is your bond is a 'cliche', but ironically we do not realize how important keeping our word is. We do not know how far our integrity would take or how fast it could stop our advancement. When you make a promise to someone, no matter what try and keep it. Sometimes we take our close ones for granted and not realize we might be jeopardizing a great deal in the future. 

Like Esau we are consumed with the now, and selling off our birth rights while thinking it's just Jacob, "Big Mistake". It's not just Jacob its your future. Watch the trend you pass off to friends and family. If a family member sees you as a debtor do you think they would readily do business with you? if a friend perceives you as lackadaisical do you think such a person can let you run their business on their behalf? if either of these group, notices you pilfer do you think they would want to partner with you? Yes family is family but then again, there's  the saying," don't mix business with pleasure". 

It's one thing if family or friend can vouch for you, its another if they cover for you. Vouching means they trust you and can put themselves in the line for you. Covering means they're just being loyal out of duty not respect. There will come a time when you need both, and although they might be able to do one, (Cover) they just might not be able to do the other (Vouch). 

You better watch the legacy you're building.  Do not assume we are family or we are friends so therefore i can get away with it. What we fail to realize is, that we see a family member or a friend as on the same level as us today, does not mean we or they, would never get to a position to decide each other's  fate. 

Often times we expect to be given a place of status or a position not out of merit but out of familiarity or relationship. We forget that the people that know us best are sometimes the ones to decide whether or not we advance to the next level. Yes it might not be their business but their endorsement.  Will your loved ones or friends gladly give their endorsements when things get serious?
Your INTEGRITY is everything.
Check yourself before it's too late and you start wondering why that brother won't give you the contract, why that sister refuse to partner with you, why that friend won't lend you the money, why that stranger pulled out of a business deal.Change what they know about you.
